Given my recent posts on the lot of corporate managers and their longsuffering employees, Squonk’s Mind the gap… post doesn’t really make me feel any better. Meanwhile, I’m off to MOT the the department’s pool car – ah, the glamour of middle management.
I never intended to put all middle management in one basket. I’m well aware that there are many well meaning, hard working and very capable people out there doing a superb job (and we have plenty of examples at our place too). But I’ve also witnessed the worst from up close, so that’s why this hit a chord…
On the other hand, “upper” management has also been known to mistake their own wishful thinking for reality…
