{"id":339,"date":"2006-12-19T19:29:02","date_gmt":"2006-12-19T06:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bignoseduglyguy.com\/?p=339"},"modified":"2010-12-31T11:10:10","modified_gmt":"2010-12-30T22:10:10","slug":"how-would-you-distill-your-knowledge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bignoseduglyguy.com\/?p=339","title":{"rendered":"How would you distill your knowledge?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the benefits\/drawbacks of moving my ever-growing <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/OPML\">OPML<\/a> file from Bloglines to the more me-friendly <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/reader\/\">Google Reader<\/a> is that I&#8217;m reading more and reading more widely.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things that I found my way to today was Paul Kedrosky&#8217;s One-Sentence Challenge.  This offers each of us the chance to try and distill our own personal IP into one sentence; one sentence that would tell the future where to begin looking, should all knowledge about our chosen field disappear up its own fundament.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Physicist <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Richard_Feynman\">Richard Feynman<\/a> once said that if all knowledge about physics was about to expire the one sentence he would tell the future is that &#8220;Everything is made of atoms&#8221;. What one sentence would you tell the future about your own area?&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As I work in the water industry, I offered the following:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Of all the water on earth, only one percent is drinkable, so it is a resource to be cherished not squandered.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>What would you tell the future?
